Expert WNBA Props for Thursday: Shakira Austin, Mystics OVER 14.5 Points (-108)\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shakira Austin has only covered this line in 5\/12 games on the season, but her role has completely changed since joining the starting rotation four games ago and she’s cleared this line in three of those games with 19, 21 and 28 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since becoming a starter, she has averaged a 27.9% usage rate which is good for 9th among all players in the WNBA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brittney Sykes is questionable for this contest with a lower leg injury and if she misses this game, Austin will have a boost in scoring potential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Las Vegas Aces have the 2nd best rim defense in the league but somehow allow the most points in the paint where Austin scores 87% of her points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also give up a ton of points to opposing bigs and in recent matchups we have seen Tina Charles score 18 points, Aliyah Boston score 26 points, Nneka Ogwumike score 25 points & Satou Sabally score 22 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin’s volume has been through the roof with 18, 16 & 17 field goal attempts and 6, 8 & 2 free throw attempts in her last three games. With that type of volume, 15 points isn’t much to ask for especially if Sykes misses the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\n
