Classic case of two teams going in opposite directions as Boston has won seven out of eight and Brooklyn has lost eight in a row. No Kyrie for Brooklyn tonight because of those pesky home games, and Harden and Clayton are game time decisions, but I think there\u2019s enough here to find a wager.<\/p>\n HAS BOSTON PUT IT ALL TOGETHER?<\/h3>\nAnytime an NBA team wins seven out of eight, it\u2019s an accomplishment, but I must rain on this parade a bit. Five of these wins were against teams who are in collapse mode in Orlando, Detroit, Charlotte, Sacramento and Washington\u2026one win was against New Orleans with no Brandon Ingram, and one was against Miami with no Jimmy Butler. The loss was to Atlanta by 16 points, so in the middle of this winning streak they got blown out by a playoff caliber team.<\/p>\n They also haven\u2019t been a great covering team as they\u2019re only 5-5 ATS their last 10 games. They have been scoring a good amount of points as they\u2019ve scored 107 or more in six out of those seven wins, but I have to wonder if the Celtics are beating the bad teams, and when they play good teams will they come back down to Earth as just a middle of the road team.<\/p>\n BROOKLYN’S COLLAPSE<\/h3>\nYikes, what a run the Nets have been on. I would say that it\u2019s hard to believe that a team that was a Kevin Durant toe away from going to the finals last season has fallen so hard, but this is what happens when you depend on Kyrie Irving and James Harden.<\/p>\n They\u2019ve lost eight in a row, but it\u2019s been getting worse as Harden is hurt with a hamstring or a hand or whatever they tell us on a given day, and is questionable along with Claxton. The last three games they lost by 11 to Sacramento, 23 to Utah, and 20 to Denver, and they\u2019ve given up over 120 points to three out of their last four opponents.<\/p>\n NETS VS CELTICS PREDICTION<\/h2>\nNo way I can back Brooklyn tonight although they tend to play well in the first half and then fall off a cliff the second half. Boston, on the other hand has had some teams back door cover when they take their foot off the gas in the 4th so I won\u2019t take Boston to cover, but I will take them to get over their team total of 111.5. Brooklyn\u2019s opponents have scored over this total in four straight games and Boston has gotten over this total in three out of four games. Brooklyn is bottom of the league in defending guards and with Brooklyn having the 8th fastest pace that should mean more possessions for Boston.<\/p>\n Nets vs Celtics Best Bet: Boston Team Total OVER 111.5 Points<\/strong><\/p>\n Interested in placing a bet on Tuesday’s Nets vs Celtics Eastern Conference clash? But distractions are rarely a positive, and Irving is unavailable for this one due to the New York Covid restrictions, while Harden isn\u2019t expected to play due to his balky hamstring.<\/p>\n Brooklyn has dropped eight in a row straight-up with one cover, ranking 29th in net rating and are allowing a league-worst 122 points per 100 opponents\u2019 possessions during this skid.
