Jacob deGrom appears to be fully-healthy for the first time since 2022, and the results are beginning to follow. In his last start against the Astros, deGrom did not allow a run in 8.0 innings while striking out seven and walking one. Over his last four starts (24.0 innings), he’s allowed a total of three runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yankees’ current roster is hitting .180 in 57 plate appearances against deGrom with a 35.1-percent strikeout rate and a .282 weighted on-base average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DJ LeMahieum is 3-for-19 with eight strikeouts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Cody Bellinger is 3-for-16 with seven strikeouts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Yarbrough has been a solid pitcher through out his career, but we have some concerns about his fit at Yankee Stadium. Yarbrough finished in the bottom-10th percentile among pitchers in strikeout rate last season. Searching for weak contact while pitching at Tropicana Field and Dodger Stadium, where Yarbrough pitched for six years, is a winning strategy. It’s a lot harder at Yankee Stadium where a routine pop fly can turn into a home run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yankees vs Rangers Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Weather is a bit of a concern in this one so keep an eye on the forecast through out the day. It should be clear enough to start the game on time, but the rain may increase through out the evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yankees’ bullpen made life a little bit harder than it needed to be on Tuesday as Devin Williams needed 24 pitches to get through the eighth inning, then Ian Hamilton gave up two runs in the ninth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yarbrough hasn’t pitched since May 11, so it’s been ten days since he last stepped on the mound. He has a 5.40 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP at Yankee Stadium so far this season. This is a very affordable price to back deGrom and the Rangers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
