Neto enters Monday in the top-15th percentile among hitters in expected batting average, hard-hit rate, average exit velocity and barrel rate. He had a pair of multi-hit games in the series against the Dodgers, and should be able to carry that momentum over to this series against the Athletics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Angels’ starter Jos\u00e9 Soriano has pitched well this season, but he’s been playing with a little bit of fire. Soriano has a 1.46 WHIP this season, which means he’s been allowing a healthy amount of base runners. Yet he’s only allowed a total of three earned runs in his last three starts. With seven total walks in his last two starts, he’s been threading a small needle when it comes to run prevention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Athletics<\/h3>\n\n\n\nStarting pitcher J.T. Ginn has bounced between the minor leagues and the big leagues over the first seven weeks of the season. He hasn’t finished 5.0 innings in any of his last three starts, and that could be a problem in Monday’s contest. Justin Sterner and Tyler Ferguson have each pitched on back-to-back days out of the Athletics’ bullpen, which means that unit is likely to be short-handed in the latter stages of this game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s a small sample size, but the Athletics have performed well against Soriano in the past. Brent Rooker is 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and a walk. Lawrence Butler is 2-for-5 with a home run. Shea Langeliers is 3-for-4 with a double and a home run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Athletics vs Angels Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\nThe over is 14-7 in Athletics\u2019 home games this season at Sutter Health Park. Ballpark Pal\u2019s model projects 10.6 runs in this AL West contest, and we agree with that outlook.
