In 21 road games, the Rockies have scored an average of 2.10 runs per game and have scored more than four runs one time. Colorado has been held to either one run or no runs in nine of those 21 road games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Texas Rangers<\/h3>\n\n\n\nPSST! Have you heard the news?! Patrick Corbin isn’t that bad and he’s been a very solid arm in the Rangers’ rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Around the All-Star break of last season, Corbin shortened his pitch arsenal and simply stopped throwing the pitches that weren’t working and focused on the pitches he was most comfortable with. It’s a noble concept, but it has worked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n His hard-hit rate has dropped from 46.7-percent last year to 31.4-percent this year. That 31.4-percent hard-hit rate puts him in the 90th-percentile among all pitchers this season. He was in the 3rd-percentile in hard-hit rate last season. That is a massive improvement over the course of a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n His .274 expected batting average allowed is his best since 2019. His average exit velocity has dropped from 90.8 miles per hour last year to 88.3-percent this year. In his last start against the Tigers (who have a top-10 offense this year), Corbin allowed two runs on three hits in 7.0 innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rangers vs Rockies Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\nThe under is 29-13-1 in Texas\u2019 games this season. While we don’t feel comfortable backing the full-game under with the Rangers’ lineup facing Antonio Senzatela and the Rockies’ bullpen, we do feel comfortable fading Colorado’s lineup against Corbin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even with all of Corbin’s struggles in recent years, the Rockies’ lineup is only hitting .246 against him. Kyle Farmer is 3-for-17. Jacob Stallings is 1-for-17.
