All signs are pointing to Pete Crow-Armstrong taking a major statistical leap in 2025 after batting .522 in the spring with three home runs and two stolen bases across 23 at-bats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Crow-Armstrong slashed .237\/.286\/.384 with 10 homers and 47 RBI across 410 at-bats in 123 games in his first extensive time with the Chicago Cubs last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was trending in the positive direction towards the end of the season with a .289 batting average and .806 OPS (OPS on the season was .670) during his last 57 games (215 plate appearances). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to FanGraphs, he logged 2.2 fWAR from July 27 through the end of the season. That was the 19th-highest mark of all Major League Baseball hitters during that time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
More importantly, PCA swiped 27 bases on 30 chances, showcasing his speed which has been measured at 30 feet per second per Baseball Savant, that puts him in the 99th percentile of all MLB players. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite not getting playing time in the majors until June, Edwards stole 31 bases on 35 attempts with an impressive .359 wOBA, 10.9% walk rate across 303 plate appearances in 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now Edwards is penciled in to be the leadoff hitter for a Marlins team that will absolutely need to manufacture runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Edwards has lofty expectations, stating that he plans on swiping 60+ bases, but he was on pace for that across 70 games during the 2024 campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Edwards is a switch-hitter who excels at getting on base (.397 OBP in 2024), but he lacks power (only one HR) which is a plus in this scenario.
