Houston vs Texas Tech Betting Preview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Since December 1, the only team to beat the Houston Cougars is Texas Tech. The Red Raiders earned an 82-81 overtime victory in Lubbock on February 1, but both teams may look different than they did in that initial meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the Texas Tech side, senior guard Chance McMillian scored 23 points in that win over the Cougars. He did not play in Saturday’s win over West Virginia and was recently seen in a walking boot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the Houston side, junior guard Emanuel Sharp did play in that first meeting, but was largely ineffective. Sharp finished that game with four points in 17 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That was part of a stretch in late-January and early-February where he missed three games and was clearly hobbled in a handful of others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After scoring 17 points with four rebounds and two steals against Arizona State last week, it’s safe to assume that Sharp is feeling much better than he was a month ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is Texas Tech’s first time playing on Big Monday, so the Red Raiders do not have much experience with this short-turnaround situation with two games in three days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will be Houston’s third time playing on Big Monday. The Cougars took care of business with a 19-point win over TCU and an 11-point win over Baylor in the first two. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is something that you will hear us say quite a bit over the next couple weeks: At this time of the season, we’re looking at road teams who do not rely on the three-point shot. Shooting on the road with tired legs four months into the season is not easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Houston vs Texas Tech Predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
We want to look for teams that play defense, rebound and know how to score in a variety of ways without relying on the three-pointer. Houston is No. 289 in three-point attempts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cougars are 8-0 straight-up, 6-2 against the spread in conference road games. With McMillian possibly sidelined, Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland is down to a seven-man rotation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With two games in three nights, that could be a troubling formula against the aggressive Cougars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
