2025 Mexico Open Course Preview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vidanta is a wide open course that favor the bombers as the fairways are big and flat.\u00a0There are quite a few water hazards that are in play, but the weather looks to be perfect this week so look for scores to be pretty low. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two Par 5\u2019s that are 600 yards,\u00a0and there are several 500 yard Par 4\u2019s so distance is important here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a bit of a\u00a0different course with five Par 3\u2019s and nine Par 4\u2019s, but in the end, with this being such an\u00a0 easy course to hit fairways and greens, distance and a hot putter from anyone could get\u00a0the win. The winning score should be mid to high teens under par.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This field is really weak as Akshay Bhatia is the betting favorite, with Rasmus Hojgaard\u00a0 and Patrick Rodgers, Samuel Stevens and Kurt Kityama rounding out the Top 5\u00a0favorites so this is set up for a tournament with a lot of lesser-known golfers to have\u00a0 success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 Mexico Open<\/strong> Favorite Holes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Favorite Hole: 7th Hole, 310 Yard Par 4\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This hole can be reached by golfers taking a chance off the tee, but there is water on\u00a0 one side, and bunkers on the other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bunkers aren\u2019t that difficult to get out of so\u00a0missing the drive to that side should still set up a birdie opportunity. However, miss it in\u00a0 the water, and players are bringing in a big score on a birdie hole.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18th Hole Rating, Par 5 548 Yards\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pretty weak finishing hole here. It\u2019s easily reachable in two if the drive is decent, the\u00a0green has a few small bunker on it, but it\u2019s not challenging at all and it doesn\u2019t set up for\u00a0much drama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you like easy holes to close out a round and tournament, this is for you,\u00a0 but for me, this hole is lacking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 Mexico Open: Players That Can Trip You Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rasmus Hojgaard\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He hasn\u2019t played here before, and last weeks course should have set up decent for him and he was one of the worst players in the field missing the cut in a short field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe\u00a0the weather did him in, but he doesn\u2019t have a top 10 finish this year, and he\u2019s priced as\u00a0a top 2 players this week. I\u2019ll pass.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kurt Kityama\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s 38th in this field in total strokes gained this year, and he\u2019s priced as a top 5 golfer\u00a0this week? No thanks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His best finish is 37th this season, and even though he has a\u00a0 runner up finish at this tournament, it was back in 2022 so I don\u2019t take it too much into\u00a0account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mexico Open Draftkings Darlings\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

*Last week we finished 22nd out of 75 people in a tournament, and our 2 best finishers\u00a0were McCarthy and Taylor\u2026the lowest priced guys on the team showing how important\u00a0the Darlings are to the lineup.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam Ryder $7400 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He hasn\u2019t played here before, but he\u2019s playing well coming into this\u00a0week with 4 made cuts, nothing worse than 43rd, and he\u2019s 8th in the field in total strokes\u00a0 gained.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erik Van Rooyen $7500<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s been bad this season, but he loves playing here finishing\u00a08th last year and 33rd the year before. Maybe he gets confident at a course he loves\u00a0 against a weak field.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greyson Sigg $8000 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019 made 3 out of 4 cuts this season, but his course history is what intrigues me as he\u2019s finished 19th, 18th and 33rd the last 3 years here. He\u2019s worth this\u00a0price.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
