There is a pretty clear line of separation in the CAA between the top-six teams and the bottom half of the conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elon, Campbell, William & Mary, Charleston, Towson and UNC-Wilmington have separated themselves from the rest of the league. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
First-year head coach Brian Earl is doing some awesome things in Williamsburg, but we can’t help but question if the Tribe is ready for this spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
William & Mary has already surpassed last year’s win total, going from ten wins last season to 13 so far this year. Per KenPom, William & Mary played the No. 208 non-conference schedule, which only featured two games against top-100 teams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tribe lost those two games by 23 (NC State) and 20 (VCU). In conference play, William & Mary has not played Charleston or Towson yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tribe lost to Wilmington by 11 and lost to Campbell by 41 last week. The only team that William & Mary has beaten from the top-half of the CAA is Elon and the Tribe were down at halftime and didn’t pull away until the final minutes of that contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other side, Charleston played a tougher non-conference schedule and the Cougars have already played every team that we listed above. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Charleston is the only team to beat Towson in league play thus far. The Cougars beat Elon and Campbell and lost to Wilmington by two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Charleston vs William & Mary Predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Charleston has performed better against better competition through out the season. William & Mary is No. 3 in the country in three-point shot frequency, with 51.5-percent of the Tribe’s field goal attempts coming from beyond the arc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As things get tighter in February and March, we tend to look to play against those teams. William & Mary went 3-for-25 from the three-point line against Campbell last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When shots aren’t falling, we can trust a well-rounded Charleston team to have a back-up plan. We’re not sure the Tribe can say the same thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
