Pebble Beach Pro-Am Betting Preview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n While this tournament has been avoided by some of the biggest names in recent years, last year marked the debut of this tournament as a Signature Event, and thus, a BIG purse and a deeper field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
The tournament turned out to be somewhat of a crap shoot though with completely unpredictable weather that was so bad, they shortened the event to 54-holes knowing Sunday was going to be basically impossible to golf.\u00a0Wyndham Clark led the field at that point and was declared the champion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
This year, the weather isn\u2019t expected to play nearly as much of a factor, though the threat of rain does increase slightly as we get into the weekend.\u00a0However, wind doesn\u2019t appear to be an issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
For the third straight (and final) week we will be treated to an event where the players will be playing on multiple courses. Unlike the last two weeks though, there is no cut for this 80-man Signature Event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
The players will rotate between Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill on Thursday and Friday before playing both weekend rounds at Pebble Beach.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
To throw in another curveball, as the name of the event implies, the field will be paired with amateurs for the first two rounds as well so use caution on some of the big names as many have skipped this event over the years to avoid that chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Both courses are stock par 72s, but neither of them is long.\u00a0Pebble Beach comes in at just under 7,000 yards which is rare in today\u2019s game, but remember, this is also a US Open Course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
What it lacks in length, it fights back in target size as the greens at Pebble are the smallest of any course on the PGA Tour averaging just 3,500 square feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
On the other track, Spyglass also features smaller than average greens so certainly ball-striking, especially from 150 yards and in, will be paramount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
New and exciting this week, at least for us golf (betting) nerds, is that ShotLink Pro is being introduced to give full coverage of all strokes-gained data, on BOTH courses.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Like last week on the North Course at Torrey Pines, we have only been privileged with that information on the main track, in this case, Pebble for three rounds each year, so this is certainly a welcome sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Finally, since we already talked weather, I\u2019ll end with this Scottie Scheffler warning.\u00a0 This is his 2025 debut after having surgery just after Christmas to remove glass shards from his hand.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Perhaps there is just enough rust to open the door for the field this week.\u00a0Or perhaps he continues his dominant run and blows away the field to win for the 10th<\/sup> time in 13 months.\u00a0Either way, you have been warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nPebble Beach Pro-Am Predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n Winner:<\/strong> Keegan Bradley +5000 (FanDuel) | Top-20 +160 (FanDuel or DraftKings)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nI recommended him last week and his performance gives me no reason to jump ship this week, in fact, is just gives us a much better price.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
He struggled a bit with his putter at Torrey, but that can easily happen there, yet he still finished with this 3rd<\/sup> straight Top-15 to open the season.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nThose results are on the heels of a solo 5th at the Hero in December and a win at the BMW Championship in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
While Keegan only has two starts at this event, both were also Top-15 finishes with a T15 in 2011 and a T11 last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Also, as I said last week, Keegan will be a part of the Ryder Cup this fall as captain, but everyone knows he wants to qualify as a player, and you would be hard pressed to find someone else that would mean more to.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
This is going to be the year of a resurgent Keegan Bradley, and I think we see it continue this week with him in contention again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Winner:<\/strong> Patrick Cantlay +1800 (Everywhere) | Top-10 +200 (FanDuel or DraftKings)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nI must admit, I\u2019m not the biggest fan of betting on Cantlay as it never works out for me, but his return to the winner\u2019s circle for the first time since 2022 is coming this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
