Early money has shown on Arizona in this Big 12 battle, and we are happy to grab the points with Iowa State. The Wildcats have enjoyed a very comfortable introduction into the Big 12 thus far. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arizona has only played two teams in the top half of the conference, and they lost by 16 in one of those games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tip your cap to Tommy Lloyd for playing a difficult non-conference schedule against the likes of Wisconsin, Duke, Oklahoma and UCLA, but Arizona lost all of those games. Arizona has played eight games against teams rated inside KenPom’s top-50, and the Wildcats have gone 2-6 straight-up and against the spread in those eight games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So we’re struggling to see where the confidence is coming from in the betting market for Arizona in this one. Back-to-back wins over Oklahoma State and Colorado (combined 2-14 in Big XII play) are not moving the needle for us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iowa State has only lost one game in the last two months, and that came at West Virginia where the Cyclones shot 1-for-17 from three-point range. That was certainly an outlier performance for a team that shoots 35.0-percent from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
