In a little bit of a unique twist, this is Florida’s third-straight game listed as a 10.5-point favorite. The Gators lost outright as a 10.5-point favorite against Missouri last week, then rebounded nicely with a 24-point win as a 10.5-point favorite over Texas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As currently constructed, Texas and Missouri are significantly better than South Carolina. The Gamecocks continue to play without starting point guard Jamarii Thomas and starting forward Myles Stute, and head coach Lamont Paris has been unable to unlock the same form that propelled his team to 26 wins last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Carolina is 3-5 against the spread as an underdog this season after going 12-5 ATS in that role last year. South Carolina is 0-5 straight-up to begin SEC play, with three of those five losses coming by 20+ points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two “close” losses both deserve a little bit of an asterisk, too. Auburn’s Player of the Year candidate, Johni Broome, was injured in the Tigers’ win at South Carolina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Gamecocks’ three-point loss at Vanderbilt, South Carolina turned the ball over a whopping 25 times and the Commodores went 4-for-21 from three-point range. Florida is top-15 in the country in both offensive and defensive efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gamecocks have scored an average of 61.2 points per game in league play thus far, and South Carolina has not hit the 70-point mark in a game since Christmas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Gamecocks were able to pull a bunch of upsets last season, and now a lot of those teams are getting their payback this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Florida had a double-digit lead with under 12 minutes remaining last year before the Gamecocks out-scored the Gators by 16 points in the final minutes. Look for the Gators to get their revenge on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
