| TV:<\/td> | Golf Channel, CBS<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n 2025 Farmers Insurance Open Preview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2025 Farmers Insurance Open will take place at the iconic Torrey Pines, with three\u00a0 rounds on the challenging South Course and one round on the more forgiving North\u00a0 Course. The South Course, the longest on the PGA Tour schedule, demands power\u00a0 and precision, with its lengthy par-4s and par-5s, as well as its small, firm greens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n In\u00a0contrast, the North Course offers shorter holes and wider fairways, giving players a rare\u00a0 breather before the grind of the final rounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n The weather is expected to be perfect on\u00a0Thursday and Friday, allowing for low scores, but Saturday\u2019s wind could make the\u00a0already tough South Course even more challenging. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n With its picturesque ocean views\u00a0and difficult setup, Torrey Pines is sure to test every aspect of a player\u2019s game,\u00a0especially as the field tightens over the weekend. Expect the winner to combine\u00a0 distance, accuracy, and a strong short game to navigate this demanding track.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n The winning score will probably be around -13 as that\u2019s been the winning score the last\u00a0 two years. Players have to go low when they play the North course as that\u2019s where the\u00a0 birdies are easiest, and on the South course, accuracy everywhere is a must, but\u00a0especially off the tee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n The rough is long, and it\u2019s extremely difficult to go pin hunting\u00a0 from this rough, and with the length of this course, players can\u2019t be shy with distance off\u00a0 the tee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n 2025 Farmers Insurance Open<\/strong> Favorite Holes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nHole: 3rd Hole Par 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nIt\u2019s a gorgeous Par 3 with an elevated tee so it plays short, but it\u2019s tough. There\u2019s a\u00a0bunker in front, and roll off to the left and right, and players absolutely cannot go long as\u00a0they would be flirting with bushes and out of bounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n It\u2019s an amazing looking hole that\u00a0 be surprisingly hard for such a short distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n 18th Hole: Par 5, 545 Yards\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nI\u2019m a big fan of this closing hole. It has trouble everywhere, but accurate shots can\u00a0 provide a birdie opportunity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n The fairway is somewhat narrow, and the rough is long so\u00a0 any shot that doesn\u2019t settle in the fairway will almost guarantee a lay up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n Bunkers are\u00a0right next to the fairway, and they can gobble up balls as well, and the pond in front of\u00a0 the green will see plenty of action this week as will the bunkers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n The pin placement for\u00a0 the final round is tough, and there can be some really fun drama for the eventual\u00a0 winner. On paper, it doesn\u2019t look too difficult, but make no mistake, this hole can bite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n 2025 Farmers Insurance Open: Players That Can Trip You Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\nMax Homa\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nI get that he\u2019s won here before, and he loves playing in California, but he\u2019s just not been\u00a0 good recently. He\u2019s only 25th in total strokes gained in this field, and off the tee he\u2019s\u00a0-0.14 the last 12 months. He doesn\u2019t have a top 20 finish on the PGA Tour since May\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n 12th, I don\u2019t expect one this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n Tony Finau\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nHe has great history here finishing Top 10 in 6 out of the last 8 years, but he was awful\u00a0 last week mising the cut, and he\u2019s outside the Top 20 in this field in total strokes gained\u00a0 the last 6 months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n His driving hasn\u2019t been accurate, and that will be a big problem at this tournament with the thick rough. He\u2019ll be a popular pick this week, but I won\u2019t be\u00a0 betting on him as he\u2019s priced as a Top 5 guy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n Jason Day\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nI think Day will be on people\u2019s radar after his 3rd place finish last week, but he missed\u00a0 the cut at this tournament last year, and his driving distance is way below average in this field, and his accuracy off the tee is meh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n His approach strokes gained is only\u00a0+0.11, and lackluster drives and approaches will be a massive problem at this course\u00a0 with the small greens and thick rough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n Farmers Insurance Open Draftkings Darlings\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\nTaylor Montgomery $6500\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nMontgomery has made the cut the last 2 weeks, and the last 3 years he\u2019s finished 13th, 31st, and 11th. It\u2019s a surprised he\u2019s played so well here because he\u2019s not long off the tee, and he\u2019s not very accurate, but somehow it works. We\u2019ll hope he makes the cut this week again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n Vincent Norrman $6800<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nHe\u2019s finished 56th and 44th the last 2 years here and he\u2019s finished 29th and 37th the last 2 weeks. That\u2019s good enough for me to grab him at this price. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n Sam Stevens $7300\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nStevens is on a great run of 10 straight made cuts, and he\u2019s finished 43rd and 13th the last 2 years here.
