We’ve got two teams that are both coming off marquee wins, so the motivation and let-down factors are fairly equal here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alabama is coming off a five-point road win at Kentucky on Saturday. The Crimson Tide led for most of the second half and were able to squash a series of Wildcat runs through out the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The biggest positive that Nate Oats can take away from that win is Alabama’s performance at the free throw line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tide had been struggling at the charity stripe, including a 10-for-20 performance at South Carolina last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But Alabama shot 85.3-percent from the line at Rupp Arena, including a 23-for-25 performance from the starting lineup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That’s a big performance in a big game in an area where Alabama has struggled this season. Vanderbilt is coming off a 76-75 home win over Tennessee on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That was the biggest win in Mark Byington’s first season at the helm in Nashville. Vanderbilt also hosted South Carolina last week, and we’re using some numbers from that game as the catalyst for our handicap in this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gamecocks were missing two starters and turned the ball over a whopping 25 times, and that game was tied in the final seconds before Vanderbilt hit the game-winner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is concerning. Per KenPom, the Commodores played a bottom-20 non-conference schedule in the country, while Alabama played a top-10 schedule. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will be the hardest road environment Vanderbilt has faced this season. Assuming the Crimson Tide have recovered from their post-Kentucky celebrations, Alabama should cruise to victory in this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
