2025 The Sentry Course: Kapalua Resort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Kapalua Golf Course, especially the Plantation Course, is one of the easiest\u00a0 courses for PGA golfers. It has super wide fairways that make it easy to hit good drives\u00a0without worrying about rough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The big downhill slopes help the golf ball go farther,\u00a0 making it even more fun for long hitters. The greens are huge, giving players plenty of\u00a0 chances to make birdies and low scores. It\u2019s a Par 73 as well which makes the scores\u00a0 even lower so don\u2019t be surprised if the winning score is -30 or lower. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the wind can\u00a0 be tricky, it\u2019s usually not hard for professional golfers to handle, and the wind is going to\u00a0 be fairly tame to start the tournament so if you\u2019re a fan of low scoring tournaments, this\u00a0 is your cup of tea.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This tournament has 60 players in it with no cut, and it\u2019s a loaded field with last years  winners and top 50 FedEx Cup points golfers. Scheffler and McIlroy won\u2019t be playing  this week along with Fleetwood and Lowry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year for the articles, I went over my three favorite holes on the course, this year I\u2019m  going to change it up. I\u2019ll go over my favorite hole on the course, and then I\u2019ll rate the  18th hole as I think the last hole on the course is really important, and I love a great  finishing hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 The Sentry<\/strong> Favorite Holes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hole 5 Par 5, 526 yards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a bunker right in the middle of the fairway so guys will have to fly the bunker, lay\u00a0 it up before it, or hit it to the left or right. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drives that hit the fairway are in great shape for\u00a0an eagle or birdie, but the jungle on both sides of the fairway can be big time penalties.\u00a0The green is tucked in behind more jungle so approach shots can\u2019t land short. It\u2019s a\u00a0feast or famine hole that I just love.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18th Hole: This final hole is a bit gimmicky, but it fits on this course. Everyone\u2019s tee\u00a0 shot funnels down the left side of the fairway downhill, and even though it\u2019s 677 it\u00a0certainly doesn\u2019t play that long. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The green is huge so there will be some really long\u00a0 putts for eagle, and the lag putt is important to grab the birdie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s probably the most\u00a0 picturesque 18th hole on tour when standing on the tee which is a plus, but it\u2019s not\u00a0difficult so I can\u2019t rate it very high.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 The Sentry: Players That Can Trip You Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Cantlay\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s priced as a Top 6 guy to win, and he\u2019s finished 12th and 16th here the last two\u00a0 years so I just can\u2019t take action on him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He regressed last year, and over the last 6\u00a0 months he\u2019s 13th best in this field in total strokes gained, and it comes down to his\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

putting as he\u2019s a shocking -0.09 strokes gained putting the last 6 months, and only\u00a0+0.16 the last 12 months. I\u2019ll need to see it before I believe it before betting on him.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viktor Hovland\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is your annual reminder that Viktor Hovland is awful at this tournament. In short\u00a0 fields, he\u2019s finished 22nd, 18th, 30th, and 31st in four appearances here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His short\u00a0 game is his achilles heel, but this isn\u2019t a difficult course, I have no idea why he\u2019s so bad\u00a0 here. He just doesn\u2019t feel comfortable here for some reason so avoid him this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
