Despite leading that game since the 36th minute, City were undone by two late goals from United, a penalty from Bruno Fernandes in the 88th minute, along with another late winner just two minutes later handing City their second loss in just four days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
That defeat ensured Manchester City\u2019s current run of just one win across their last eleven competitive matchups, eight of them defeats, is pretty much unheralded in the Pep Guardiola era at the club, and is as many defeats as they've suffered across their previous 106 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Aston Villa will look to take advantage of that poor form ahead of this one in the early kick-off on Saturday, but the Villains have had troubles of their own of late, with just three wins across their twelve games in all, although those three wins did come in their last four games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Aston Villa won the last meeting of these two sides in this very venue back in December of last year, but prior to that win for the Villains, Manchester City largely dominated this fixture, especially in the West Midlands, boasting a W6, D2, L0 record here since 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
We\u2019ve personally been sitting off City for weeks now thankfully, but this may well be the time given where the line is currently at to take a small piece of the champions here on Sunday to win and cover on the slender -0.25 handicap line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The job Nuno Espirito Santo has done at the Tricky Trees cannot be understated either, taking a team that was fourth from the bottom when he initially took over to now, less than a year later, fourth from the top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
However, the East Midlands side faces a Brentford team here on Saturday that own the league\u2019s best home record this season, a record that is no small feat considering their 22 points gained in London so far is more than Liverpool (19), Arsenal (18), and Manchester City (16) have all accumulated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
That success for Brentford has mainly been achieved through the Bees\u2019 unparalleled ability to score goals at home this season, registering a massive 3.25 GPG this year, a full 0.75 GPG more than next best Tottenham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
And that is the major concern for Nottingham Forest ahead of this one as they're a team who rank bottom half in shots allowed away from home this year, as well as sixth-from-bottom in goals allowed from open play also.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Brentford has won each of the previous two meetings against Nottingham Forest at the Community Stadium, and given Brentford\u2019s incredible home record this season, even in the face of what Nottingham Forest have done this year also, we have to back the Bees in this spot at home on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Whether that proves to be the case or not, a positive result on the road away to Everton this weekend is expected by the books, with Chelsea currently going off as heavy -157 road favorites for this game, an understandable line given not only Chelsea\u2019s impressive recent record, but also the fact that Everton have won just two games at home all season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
The Toffees for their part however have started to play much better of late, losing just one of their last five games overall, including a 0-0 draw against Arsenal down in London last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Everton were under the thump for the majority of that game, yet their defense proved steadfast, denying Arsenal any opportunity to get on the scoreboard, and that defensive focus has been a major boon for Everton across recent weeks, with the Toffees giving up the joint-fewest goals allowed in the league, right alongside Arsenal, since November 1st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Because of that, this line looks a quarter goal too high here, and while Chelsea may well edge themselves a win here, getting a full goal headstart on an Everton side who will be pumped up for this one in front of their home fans ahead of Christmas week presents all the value, and we\u2019re happy to take a piece of the Toffees to cover at home on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
