Memphis went 7-0 straight-up at home at the Liberty Bowl, but just 3-2 away from home. Memphis is just 2-5-1 against the spread in the Tigers&#8217; last eight games as a favorite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oddsmakers generally did a good job with totals in Memphis&#8217; games this season because the Tigers were top-20 in points scored, but they were involved in six overs and six unders. Memphis has won-and-covered its last three bowl appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">West Virginia Mountaineers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>West Virginia fired head coach Neal Brown after the regular season finale. Offensive coordinator Chad Scott will serve as the interim head coach for the Frisco Bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>West Virginia went 5-7 against the number this season after losing the finale 52-15 at Texas Tech. Interestingly, the Mountaineers had a better record on the road (3-2) than they did in Morgantown (3-4). Eight of West Virginia&#8217;s 12 games went over the total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>West Virginia was on an 0-4 ATS bowl slide before last year&#8217;s 30-10 win-and-cover against North Carolina in Charlotte. This marks the ninth-consecutive game where West Virginia will be an underdog (4-4 ATS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frisco Bowl Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since being established in 2014, the Frisco Bowl has seen the favorite go 7-2 straight-up and 6-3 against the spread. Seven of the nine games have seen 61+ points scored, and that&#8217;s the direction that we&#8217;re looking in this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>West Virginia retained its offensive coordinator, which should keep some level of continuity on that side of the ball for the Mountaineers. The defense, however, is a different story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost all of the impactful &#8220;opt outs&#8221; are expected to be on the defensive side of the ball for both teams. WVU&#8217;s Josiah Trotter is one of the best linebackers in the country, and he&#8217;s on the hunt for a new home. The Mountaineers&#8217; defense was <strong><em>LAST<\/em><\/strong> in the country in EPA per pass attempt allowed and bottom-5 in passing success rate allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s music to the ears of the Tigers&#8217; offense, who&#8217;s determined to send QB Seth Henigan out on a high note.
