The Houston Rockets were gifted the 3rd overall pick due to a prior trade of superstar James Harden with the Brooklyn Nets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reed Sheppard converted 52% of his long-distance shots in his lone season with the Wildcats, making him a logical choice for a team that ranked 14th in three-pointers made and 23rd in efficiency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kentucky sharpshooter also averaged 20 points, 4.8 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game. Sheppard is projected to come off the bench, but he still has the 2nd best odds to win the award behind Zach Edey (+500). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other first year players could receive larger roles, but Sheppard has the opportunity to make an impact on a team with playoff aspirations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is an above average defender wo raked 2.5 steals per game as a Wildcat and that could help him crack Ime Udoka’s rotation. This is a market that is always tough to predict but Sheppard is in a spot where he could get tons of recognition as a sharpshooter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
