These teams occupy the 3rd & 4th seeds in the Western Conference as the Grizz sit at 33-17 while the Jazz have fallen to 30-19.<\/p>\n The Jazz are coming off a 105-97 home loss against the Phoenix Suns, while the Grizzlies handled business in San Antonio with a 118-100 victory over the Spurs. Memphis won a 119-118 thriller in Utah in the first head-to-head matchup between these clubs. The third and final meeting between these teams could determine playoff seeding as it takes place in the final week of the regular season.<\/p>\n Jazz in Full Collapse<\/h3>\nThe Utah Jazz have fallen into the abyss. They have dropped three straight games, giving them 9 losses in their last 11 games overall. Most recently they lost consecutive games to the Phoenix Suns. Crucial injuries to Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell have taken there toll. Rudy Gobert has already been ruled out for Friday nights game with a calf strain, while Donovan Mitchell is questionable with a concussion.<\/p>\n Gobert missed 5 games on the leagues health and safety protocol list and the past two games with the calf. The Jazz went 1-6 in the 7 games Gobert has missed, proving how important he is to this team. It’s a shame because Utah was 28-10 prior to Gobert starting to miss time.<\/p>\n The Jazz only have one victory in their last 5 games without their top player Donovan Mitchell. Long story short, no Mitchell plus no Gobert equals no dice for this team. On the season Utah ranks 2nd in points scored with 113.8 per game and 12th in defensive scoring with 107.2 points allowed to their opponents.<\/p>\n Grizzlies Stake Claim Out West<\/h3>\nThe Memphis Grizzlies have alternated wins and losses in their last six games after having their 11 game win streak snapped. Wednesday night was an 18 point victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Ja Morant led his team with a season high 41 points, he was one of three Grizz players with 20+ points. Morant has been on fire in his last four games with an average of 36.8 points, 8 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game in that span.<\/p>\n The Grizzlies offense ranks 5th with just shy of 112 points per game as they lead the league in points in the paint. They Grizzlies also lead the league in rebounding with over 48 per game. They are middle of the road in points allowed, but force the 5th most turnovers in and lead league with over 6 blocks a game. Memphis will be without Tyus Jones and Kyle Anderson for Friday’s nights affair.<\/p>\n Memphis Grizzlies vs Utah Jazz Prediction<\/h3>\nThe Memphis Grizzlies are 4 point home favorites with the total set at 225. The Jazz are 5-15-2 against the spread in their last 22 games, while Memphis is 11-3 against the spread in their last 14. The Grizz are also 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, while Utah is 0-6-1 against the spread in their last seven games with one days rest.<\/p>\n The Jazz have really struggled to defend the rim without Rudy Gobert. Cue the team that leads the league in points in the paint, rebounding and blocks. In all probability Donovan Mitchell will also be out, putting tremendous pressure on Jordan Clarkson and Bojan Bogdanovic to score.<\/p>\n This one is easy for me, I strongly recommend laying the minimal points with Grizzlies. It should be easy for Memphis as well, they should not just win but win with authority.
