Tulsa College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Wilson came here with previous head coaching experience, plus six years as Ohio St\u2019s coordinator.\u00a0 This is Tulsa, not Ohio State, so my 4-8 prediction was not surprisingly, an easy one to make.\u00a0 Tulsa hopes that\u2019s the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 Tulsa NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Tulsa retuned only nine starters a year ago.\u00a0 They are still low in that department (11 returning), but they do have their top two QB\u2019s back, plus their top two RB\u2019s and lead WR.\u00a0 With a slightly easier schedule, I expect some offensive improvement, although the OL may be a bit weaker right now.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seven of their top eight tacklers are gone.\u00a0 Their leading sacker (by far) is gone.\u00a0 The defense needed new, and better talent anyway, but there\u2019s no real remaining talent to build on.\u00a0 The front seven is going to be in trouble, and the secondary appears one year away from true improvement.\u00a0 Only two seniors are slated to start, and both are transfers.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2nd<\/sup> year coordinator prepped at the FCS level and the jury is certainly out on his ability to turn this around in \u201924.\u00a0 Chase Meyer hit 17-20 field goals and promptly transferred.\u00a0 Tulsa added the backup PK from Memphis (3-5 last year), so maybe they can be okay.\u00a0 It will be an area to monitor.\u00a0\u00a0

Tulsa Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Regression to 3-9?\u00a0 4-8 wouldn\u2019t surprise me, but to achieve more than that, the decent backfield has to carry the torch, and the defensive coaches have to work a bit of magic to get that unit to improve.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I did go UNDER 4.5 wins, but sadly, my scheduling grid puts this their projection 4.5, so I will take a 2nd<\/sup> look at this team to see if I want to keep the play. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
