Temple College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Temple is in a bad rut.\u00a0 Their last meaningful win was in October, 2021.\u00a0 They are 10-33 lately, with current coach Drayton 2-14 in conference play, and 0-10 on the road.\u00a0 Where\u2019s the good news?<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 Temple NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

EJ Warner lasted one year.\u00a0 Evan Simon comes from Rutgers, who ran a pure vanilla offense.\u00a0 The OL is their best area, but the run game was below average and the RB crop is pretty much invisible.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defense mostly stayed flat, which means they were about a D+ vs. the run and pass.\u00a0 The DL might be their best unit (allowed 4.6\/198 last year, fairly typical).\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One area that did regress (predictably) was their pass rush.\u00a0 They went from 38 sacks down to 23.\u00a0 You can\u2019t win with a horrendous -20 turnover ratio (75 points given away).\u00a0 QB interceptions were too high, and the defense had just three of their own.\u00a0 Nine of their top eleven tacklers are gone.\u00a0 The new PK was 13-15 at Austin Peay.\u00a0 I found the good news!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
