Colorado College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Colorado started 3-0 and everyone got excited.  So did I, but for far different reasons.  The turnover ratio was +6.  The rush ratio was 92-260-2.8 offensively, and 117-589-5.0 defensively.  The OL had allowed an amazing 16 sacks through three games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why box scores matter.  Colorado finished 4-8, and I cashed an in-season UNDER 6.5 win total (friends of mine found under 7!).  Deion Sanders has bigger things in mind for \u201924. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 Colorado NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The obvious key is reducing the 56 sacks allowed.  UTEP, Jackson State, and Houston provide three of the five new OL starters.  These are hardly powerhouse programs, but presumably, Sanders has a better understanding of what he wants the OL to look like.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new left tackle is a highly touted freshman.  This is a week-by-week study.  Even corrected for sacks, the run game was dismal.  That unit is all new, led by a transfer from Ohio State.  Despite these issues, QB Sanders was incredible.  Let\u2019s hope he stays healthy.  The new defensive coordinator was with the Bengals the past eight seasons.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six returning starters are joined by transfers from Pittsburgh, ASU, and Oklahoma.  I\u2019m projecting small improvement.  One area that teams usually can gain \u201cfree\u201d improvement is by fixing porous turnover ratios.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, Colorado had a +9 turnover ratio, so there won\u2019t be any gains made here.  Colorado found a kicker midway through last season, and he returns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Colorado Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0I called them 2-10 last year (dominated preseason and in-season UNDERS.\u00a0 Colorado was actually competitive down the stretch in \u201923, losing three of their last four games by 7, 3, and 6 points.\u00a0 I\u2019ll call this 5-7 right now.\u00a0 Making adjustments in-season will again be critical.\u00a0 Watch the OL and the new DC carefully.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>
