<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2024-nebraska-corn-huskers-ncaaf-areas-to-watch\">2024 Wake Forest NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>QB Mitch Griffis wasn\u2019t the answer last year (and his prop projections were incredibly out of line \u2013 insert smile here).&nbsp; In comes Hank Bachmeier, who has plenty of starting experience, but the won-loss record has been a bit disappointing.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wake has never been a dynamite run team, but there could be some potential in the room (I project an uptick to 3.9 per carry).&nbsp; Pass protection has been dismal, and Wake allowed 49 sacks in \u201923.&nbsp; At best, this unit will only slightly improve.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year\u2019s defensive #\u2019s showed 4.45 per carry allowed and 61.6% allowed in the pass game.\u00a0 Both figures were slightly worse as compared to my projections (4.4\/59.5%).\u00a0 This is a senior-laden DL that should improve in \u201924, and it better improve, as the secondary is weaker.\u00a0 PK Dennis regressed last year but could get back his \u201922 form.\u00a0\u00a0<span id=\"docs-internal-guid-588a1dd3-7fff-69b2-deaa-13f3eb43fbdb\"><div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; Wake went 3-0 vs. Elon, Vandy and ODU a year ago, but a look at their stat sheet showed them underachieving.&nbsp; QB play was average, and the rush ratio was shockingly poor.&nbsp; When compared to what I felt would be appropriate #\u2019s, Wake was below par.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other people saw 3-0.&nbsp; I saw a flawed team.&nbsp; This year\u2019s early schedule is tougher, with Virginia and Mississippi coming to Wake in weeks 2\/3.&nbsp; Given the host history, I expect a week five loss at NC St.&nbsp; Wake has lost their last 15 games vs. Clemson.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clemson will have already been on the road, playing at rival FSU.&nbsp; The spread history is 50-50, but maybe this is their best opportunity to make some noise.&nbsp; Road games follow at UConn and Stanford.&nbsp; Unless I see something special from their stat sheet, 1-1 is the ceiling here.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wake will need to be at least 4-4 to have a decent shot at going to a bowl game.\u00a0 <\/strong>The November games are hosting Cal (50-50), at North Carolina (30-70), at Miami (probably 25% at best SU, but check Miami\u2019s current motivation), and home to Duke (unknown right now).\u00a0\u00a0<span id=\"docs-internal-guid-482b2ba7-7fff-1954-ea58-fc8601e6671a\"><div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;
