Miami Hurricanes College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

New season, same story.  Every year they hire top coaches, and every year recruiting is sky high.  Now with the transfer portal, Miami is winning in that area as well. <\/strong> In \u201823 they hired seven coaches, including two new coordinators.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite another stellar roster, the result was the same, which was 7-6, including an incredible brain-dead play at the end of the Georgia Tech game.  Once again, they are picked in the top 20.  Mario Cristobal is 12-13 at Miami, and 74-73 overall.  Is this his last chance?

2024 Miami Hurricanes NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Both coordinators return this season.  Miami raided the PAC 2 to get more than solid starters at QB (Ward, WSU) and RB (Martinez, THE OSU).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every area offensively is at least equal, if not better than last season.  I\u2019m projecting at least 65% through the air and a solid 5.3 per-carry rush figure.  Defensively, Miami did incur some losses.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both DT\u2019s are gone, and three DB\u2019s were drafted by the NFL.  Two transfers with 54 combined starts take over at DT, and their performance is an absolutely critical watch.  The extreme youth in the secondary is a major concern as well.  Kicking seems well above average.

Miami Hurricanes Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The talent screams 10-2, but I\u2019ll call this a SOFT 9-3.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miami could be favored 10 or 11 times this season.  Thanks to the implosion of the PAC 12, the offense will be humming.  All eyes turn to the defense, and to the coaching staff.  Watch the DT\u2019s, the pass D%, and the decision-making by Cristobal closely.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an aside, 9-3 will NOT get this team into the new 12-team playoff.  Will 10-2?  That\u2019s up for debate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
