If there are no portal defections, I truly believe this is a top 12 team in the 1<sup>st<\/sup> year of the new playoff format<\/strong>.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patience?&nbsp; Forget it.&nbsp; With Texas joining the SEC, Texas A&amp;M just got \u201crelegated\u201d.&nbsp; Mike Elko arrives to only a small dose of fanfare.&nbsp; 12-13 (their record these past two seasons) doesn\u2019t sit well in College Station.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2024-nebraska-corn-huskers-ncaaf-areas-to-watch\">2024 Texas A&amp;M NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soph QB Weigman returns and is on an upward trajectory.&nbsp; The RB room is deep.&nbsp; Elko has a decent track record with the run game, and new coordinator Collin Klien comes from run-solid Kansas St.&nbsp; I\u2019m moving the figures up, from 4.1 to a projected 4.7 per carry.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two solid WR\u2019s are gone but the room remains talented.&nbsp; The OL also has enough talent to make a difference.&nbsp; Defensively, top tackler Cooper was dynamic, but he\u2019s off to the NFL.&nbsp; This is where a number of highly touted players decided to transfer out, which is unfortunate.&nbsp; Four power five transfers will start in \u201924, but there will be a rise in yards-per-carry from a stout 3.6 (4.15 projected).&nbsp; The secondary is projected to be decent, but a bit down from last season.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Duke\u2019s special team coach was solid under Elko.&nbsp; He joins Elko here.&nbsp; I noted in the Texas write-up that the team tried a too high 35 field goals, and 19 inside of 40 yards.&nbsp; The same was true here.&nbsp; Texas A&amp;M had 17 attempts inside of 40 yards, and 35 attempts in total.&nbsp; Can that be fixed?&nbsp; <br>&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Texas A&amp;M Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I was right about 7-5 last year.&nbsp; I like Elko, and by SEC standards, the schedule is decent (no Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma or Tennessee).&nbsp;<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to completing my comprehensive scheduling grid, I had a strong UNDER 8.5 wins lean.&nbsp; After the scheduling grid was completed, <strong><em>I made the play<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; I see either 8-4 or 7-5 this season.&nbsp; The backfield is good, but the new staff must quickly (thanks to the early schedule) figure things out in the red zone.&nbsp; The defense is good, yet not quite as good as in \u201923.&nbsp; This team will give 100% all season long, but let\u2019s see if they can play better on the road.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"college-football-week-0-predictions-picks\">Texas A&amp;M College Football Picks &amp;
