Texas College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Locked and loaded!  Only a TD by Oklahoma with 15 seconds left prevented 12-0, and their only other loss was 37-31 to Washington in the playoffs.  Two areas (WR, DT) need restocking, but the rest of the team has very lofty goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 Texas NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

QB Ewers throws a soft, extremely catchable ball.  I\u2019m glad he returned, because I need to see his fastball, and if he can fit throws into tighter spaces.  The RB unit will miss its star, but should be decent.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are massive losses at WR\/TE.  WR Bond (Alabama) fills one hole, with WR Bolden (THE OSU) offering quickness and return ability.  The OL is solid.  With 11 players drafted, there were some losses.  In addition to WR\/TE\/RB, Texas lost two stud DT\u2019s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I expect run defense regression, but the Longhorns hope the #\u2019s stay decent.  I have the pass D% under 60% for the 1st<\/sup> time since \u201917.  That\u2019s a clear check on my part.  The only issue at PK is the large number of attempts (35).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They had 19 attempts under 40 yards, suggesting some stalled red zone drives.  Let\u2019s check that out as well.

Texas Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I think Georgia and the Texas A&M games are the toughest challenges.  It\u2019s not a perfect roster, but it\u2019s certainly good enough to go 11-1.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sark\u2019s teams occasionally throw in games where their defense disappears.  If that happens again, they could miss the SEC title game.  Texas is a clear championship contender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
