Ole Miss College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Controversial, yes, Lane Kiffin knows exactly what\u2019s right and what\u2019s wrong about NCAA football and the changing landscape (NIL, transfer portal).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the field, his offenses are very difficult to defend and his defenses are improving.  His use of the transfer portal is legendary.  Their bowl win over PSU might signal something special.  The Rebels have high hopes for \u201924.

2024 Ole Miss NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are positives everywhere.  Their QB is highly experienced.  Two WR\u2019s are more than solid.  The OL added talent at the highest level. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defense continues to improve, although the top teams have scored at will against them.  Modest talent returns, but no player was drafted before the 5th round, so starters lost are replaceable.  To that end, the Rebels might have six transfer defensive starters, four from the SEC.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I rate this defense as the best they\u2019ve had.  Kicking is solid.  There are a couple of concerns, but it all goes right there will be no issues at all.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have the run game at 4.9 per carry, up from 4.5.\u00a0 Let\u2019s see how transfer RB Parrish (5.4 at MFla) adjusts to the SEC.\u00a0 The other issue is the schedule layout\u00a0

The talent level is 10-2 good, and even 11-1 good.  I detest the SEC layout, but opted for 10-2.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My scheduling grid really hates the layout, and calls 9-3 a possible stretch.  Four teams will make the playoffs from the SEC.  I took OL Miss to be one of them (-130).  Is that in doubt? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
