Kentucky College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Impressive.  Kentucky has been to eight straight bowl games, as consistency has been achieved.  It\u2019s a good<\/strong> thing when 7-5 feels like a letdown.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s the question moving forward: With Oklahoma and Texas added, is there a path for the Wildcats to win eight or more games in the foreseeable future?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 Kentucky NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The best news offensively is having their left tackle earn a 7th year of eligibility.  He\u2019s \u201cold\u201d, but necessary for an offense with incredible uncertainty at QB and RB, and yet another offensive coordinator change.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have the run attack down from 5.45 per carry to 4.4, and will clearly chart ex-Georgia QB Vandagriff\u2019s progress.  The DL led the way to an unexpected 3.3-110+ run defense.  I\u2019m using 3.7 this year, which would still be a quality result.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defense is full of experience, so despite the tough schedule they could keep scoring down, although the pass D% is high (67% last year, 65% projected this year.\u00a0 Their PK missed one kick all year, and that was from 50+ yards.\u00a0\u00a0

 I said 7-5 would not be all that bad a year ago, and the Wildcats met that mark.  Despite some roster continuity and good kicking, they could be just 5-5, not counting hosting Auburn and Louisville (grid has the floor 6-6).  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, for the Wildcats, even a soft non-conference schedule isn\u2019t helping them in their quest to move up the ladder in the powerful SEC.   <\/strong>
