Alabama College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I can\u2019t remember the last time I had to think much about writing Alabama\u2019s preview.  Usually short, and to the point, this one will be different.  Kalen Deboer, welcome to the SEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 Alabama NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Alabama will look different offensively, as Deboer will bring a new style of offense into the SEC.  QB Milne\u2019s \u201923 stat sheet was better than people think, but Tide fans always expect more.  This year\u2019s RB\u2019s are unproven.  The OL is quite young but highly touted.  Sacks allowed the past three seasons were 41, 22, and 49 a year ago, 29 of which came in eight SEC regular season games.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s another key watch area.  With Saban gone, the transfer portal became Alabama\u2019s enemy for the 1st time.  Of the 39 defensive sacks, 25 were achieved by just three players, who all are gone from the program.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This may change, but the only two defensive transfers slated to start reside in the secondary.  There\u2019s continuity up front, and the new coordinator (former South Alabama Head Coach) has a solid track record.  Need a PK?  If Alabama comes calling, you come running!  Miami Ohio lost a good one, as incoming PK Nicholson was 27-28 a year ago.

Alabama Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cunbiased\u201d selection committee conveniently forgot that the Tide nearly lost to Auburn a year ago, and voted them in the final four.  Without Saban, no such concession will be made, so Alabama must earn their way in.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I see them losing to both Georgia and LSU, so one more loss (Wisky, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma?) could be an issue.   I\u2019m calling this 9-3.  I like the Deboer hire, but talent was lost, and this is not an easy schedule.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
