USC College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The PAC 12 had a nasty habit of eating their own.  Oregon and Utah traded knocking each other out of the playoffs, and in \u201822, Utah did the same to USC.  USC might have thrived in the PAC 12 with an expanded playoff, but that\u2019s old news.  The mission now is to make their way into the top tier in the Big Ten.

2024 USC NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Defense, defense and defense (again).  USC allowed 34 or more points in EACH of their final eight regular season games.  UCLA\u2019s defense was much better, and now their coordinator is here.  Eight defensive transfers are on the two-deep, with five slated to start, four from other PAC 12 schools. The \u201924 schedule is tougher, but I\u2019m projecting modest improvement (which will be checked).  The offense is user-friendly, so Mitch Moss should be fine.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RB unit has pass-catching ability, but my 4.5 per carry projection would be their lowest since Covid, \u201920.  USC\u2019s PK was erratic, going 3-3 from 40+, but 7-11 inside of 40 yards.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

USC Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

8-4.  The floor is no bowl if the defense isn\u2019t ready, the road games prove troublesome and\/or the kicking game stays erratic.  But still, it would not be a shock if USC is competitive and even dominant most of the year.  They seem to be flying under the radar.  This is all about the defense.  <\/strong>
