Purdue College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purdue went a predictable 4-8 under 1st<\/sup> year coach Ryan Walters.  Pundits pick them for 18th<\/sup> and last in \u201924.  Is the sky falling?  
  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 Purdue NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ryan Walters is a defensive coach by trade, and although they allowed in excess of 30 points per game, the stat sheet was decent, with a 4.35-154 run defense, and a stout 54.3% pass defense.  It looks like more of the same on paper, with the front seven showing roster holes, but the secondary looking good.  QB Hudson Card\u2019s stat sheet wasn\u2019t bad either.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s an extra RB now, and that stat sheet (4.65 per carry) was also solid.\u00a0 The OL is a work in progress, but has four starters back.\u00a0 Only WR looks like a liability.\u00a0 So how did this implode?\u00a0 Purdue was abysmal on special teams, and yes, special team play matters.\u00a0 Two PK\u2019s combined to go 8-17.\u00a0 In looking back, the \u201923 schedule was much tougher than the \u201922 version.\u00a0 Still, the stat sheet should have seen them be more competitive.\u00a0

Purdue Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Another 4-8.  I was hoping to say more, because it seems like their #\u2019s show hidden value, and I like to uncover teams that other people are not talking about.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, Purdue is confronted with at least two, and as many as four tried and true negative situations that have me holding back.\u00a0 The schedule in fact says 3-9, but I like the QB and the pass defense.\u00a0 One piece of advice for their staff: Get that special team unit fixed.\u00a0\u00a0
