Michigan College Football 2024 Preview: What’s the Situation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Where else would you rather be<\/em><\/strong>?  Jim Harbaugh says Los Angeles (Chargers), but before that he ended his Michigan career on top of the world, with a National Title.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sherrone Moore was busy as an interim coach for many of the games Harbaugh missed (suspension).  The vocal new man in charge hopes to keep the wins coming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 Michigan Wolverines NCAAF AREAS TO WATCH:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

 Almost everything!  Michigan sent 18 players to the NFL combine, and 13 players were drafted.  Their +17 turnover ratio is likely history.  If it drops to +3 for example, that\u2019s 52.5 points gone, at 3.75 per turnover.  QB play is clearly going to regress, and turnovers will spike (McCarthy had four interceptions).  RB Edwards is interesting.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He ran 3.9 per carry in the regular season, then went wild in the playoffs, and he is a big play threat.  Michigan needs more consistency, and I have two touted RB\u2019s to chart early and often.  WR play is \u201cfine\u201d, and there\u2019s good TE talent.  The OL was shredded!  Transfers from Stanford and Northwestern come in, but this unit is clearly not as good.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the surface, my defensive projections for \u201924, 3.9 run D and 59.5% pass D are just fine.  Michigan however, has allowed 3.35 per carry the past two seasons, and has not allowed 59.5% in quite some time.  Not only were stars lost, but cerebral leaders are gone.  It\u2019s Michigan, so incoming talent will still be more than decent, but the supporting staff is new, and the replacements are young.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of staff, Wink Martingale is the new defensive coordinator.  His not-so-subtle blitzes will confuse the average college coach, but with time, his tendencies can be exposed.  The transfer PK may come close to the PK who left.

Michigan Football 2024 Predicted Total Wins Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Michigan WILL slip, but could that be delayed until \u201925?  I\u2019m still calling this a 9-3 ceiling<\/strong>.  To exceed 9-3, they need to go 2-1 hosting Texas, USC and Oregon, and avoid an upset at Washington and Illinois.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have UNDER 9.5 wins, and also have a ticket under 9 wins<\/em><\/strong>.
