Eduardo Rodriguez makes his 2024 season debut tonight for the Diamondbacks a year after going 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA for the Tigers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He gets a familiar foe in the Guardians tonight who was actually Rodriguez\u2019s last opponent he faced last season going seven innings and allowing just one earned run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guardians will be sending Ben Lively to the mound who has been solid this season sporting a 2.70 ERA at home and not allowing a first inning run in 17 of 19 starts on the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were four total runs scored in the first inning in yesterday\u2019s series opener, but we think the bats are slightly toned down for tonight, especially with rain in the forecast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: San Francisco Giants vs Washington Nationals (-125)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Nationals head into Tuesday\u2019s slate as the best team in the MLB when it comes to not scoring in the first inning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They haven\u2019t scored in the first in 82% of games as they send MacKenzie Gore to the mound tonight. The lefty hasn\u2019t allowed a first inning run in back-to-back starts and hasn\u2019t allowed one in 19 of 22 total starts on the season! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019ll host the Giants who have recalled Hayden Birdsong from the minors who hasn\u2019t allowed a first inning run in six total starts on the season while sporting a 2.97 ERA in the majors on the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On offense the Giants are also top ten in not scoring in the first inning on the season including 82% of away games which is third best in the MLB. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although there was a run scored in the first inning last night between these two, only five total runs were scored. It also helps that current Giants hitters only bat .150 against Gore all-time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
