Sacks are one of the easiest quantifiable statistics for a defensive player to show value to their team. So, it makes sense that all of the favorites to win the award are pass rushers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award has been won by defensive linemen or edge rushers in 11 of the past 13 seasons. Myles Garrett won the DPOY last season after finishing top 10 in every notable category including sacks, QB hits, tackles for a loss, QB pressures and forced fumbles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
