New York, despite the names at the top of its lineup, has been one of the worst first-inning teams in the MLB. New York averages just .27 runs per first inning. The Yankees will face lefty J.P., whom they saw last season. The Yankees did well against Sears last year, but Sears has been better to start this season. Based on the Yankees&#8217; inability to get it going in the first, we expect them to be held in check for three outs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Athletics have a weak top of the batting order, and we do not expect them to play well to start today&#8217;s game. Oakland is scoring .36 runs per first inning, and today, they face lefty Carlos Rodon. The current A&#8217;s lineup has not seen much of Rodon, so there is not a lot of data to use.
