Brendan Loughnane -505 vs Pedro Carvalho +380<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nI have a feeling Loughnane will take out some anger on Carvalho in this fight. Loughnane was stunningly knocked out by a flash knee against Pinedo in June, and he hasn\u2019t fought since then. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
It was a stunning loss, and if they had the fight 100 times, Lounane would win 99 of them. He\u2019s going to be better everywhere this fight takes place, and we watched Carvalho get dominated in his last fight against Aaron Pico, and Loughnane is on a similar level of Pico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Loughnane should be better on all levels against Carvalho who is 2-5 in his last 7 fights. Lougnane is a great parlay piece<\/strong>, or wait until props come out and take Loughnane by finish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nLogan Storley -200 vs Shamil Musaev +160<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nMusaev makes his PFL debut, and it\u2019s tough to get a good read on him as he has 1 fight since 2021, and that fight is a bit sketchy. He quickly finished Alexey Kunchenko in 2023 in a fight that Kunchenko\u2026how can put this\u2026didn\u2019t look to upset when the fight was stopped early in the first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
From what I can tell, Musaev has pretty solid striking, and based on his fights from years ago he got takedowns and was able to hold opponents down and land ground and pound, but the big problem is how will this translate in the PFL against Storley who is by far his biggest test. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Storley has great takedowns, control and ground-and-pound, and he\u2019s only lost to Amosov in his career. I just don\u2019t think Musaev will come into the PFL and get the win over someone like Storley when he\u2019s fought for a total of 1:43 in 2.5 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
I think Storley gets him on the ground and tires him out and gets the finish<\/strong>. For fun, if there\u2019s a prop on Musaev to throw a spinning back fist or a spinning kick, I would bet that happens as he likes that move. If he misses it though, that\u2019s Storley\u2019s opportunity to get the takedown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nBubba Jenkins -150 vs Kai Kamaka +120<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\nMoney has been coming in on Jenkins, and I think it will keep coming in on Jenkins, and rightfully so. Bubba is a wrestler, and he\u2019s coming off a loss that he is open about performing badly as he gassed himself out and got finished against Pinedo, who eventually won the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Kamaka is a striker, and he\u2019s had success in Bellator, but his strength in striking can easily be nullified by the wrestling and grappling of Jenkins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Kamaka is training at Couture gym, and those guys have been losing pretty much every fight in the PFL recently. On top of that, Kamaka has his wife and baby with him this week in the hotel, and this is a clear Fade The Baby theory fight. Take Jenkins<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n2024 PFL Week 3 Main Event: Andrey Koreshkov +135 vs Magomed Umalatov -165<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n
I really like Umalatov in this matchup, and I\u2019m stunned we can get it at this price. Koreshkov is coming from Bellator, and the Bellator fighters have not done well through two weeks of the PFL, and I expect another loss here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Koreshkov has some finishes in his career, but when he fights guys who are above average he goes to decision, and he doesn\u2019t look dominant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
His last win over Larkin was an uninspiring performance with him getting some takedowns and laying on Larkin for long, boring stretches, and even then it was a split-decision win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Before that fight, he beat a nobody in the Shlemenko promotion, and it took him til round 2 to get the finish, and again, and uninspiring His striking isn\u2019t amazing, and while he can get takedowns, he\u2019s not great on the ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Umalatov is undefeated and is certainly better on the feet<\/strong>, but he\u2019s skilled enough to stuff the takedowns and frustrate Koreshkov, and in this format that rewards finishes, it fits Umaltov\u2019s style much better.
