The Tar Heels put a beatdown on the Cavs in a 74-58 final. Virginia surrendered career highs of 29 points and 21 rebounds to Armando Bacot and was dominated on the glass from start to finish. Virginia’s offense is top-heavy relying on Jayden Gardner for scoring and defense, particularly defending the glass. Gardner averages 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game leading the team in both categories. Virginia’s 58-74 loss in Chapel Hill on Saturday was driven by North Carolina’s dominance on the glass.
