Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors Analysis<\/h2>\n

Two of the Western Conference elite clash when the Golden State Warriors travel to the FedEx Forum to meet the Grizzlies in Memphis. The Warriors improved to 30-9 after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-82 on Saturday. The Grizzlies aren’t far behind at 28-14 after scoring a 127-119 road victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. These teams split the first two head-to-head matchups with both games being played at the Chase Center.<\/p>\n

Thompson Returns For Warriors<\/h3>\n

Klay Thompson returned to action after a two and half year absence to help his team to victory on Saturday. He scored 17 points on 7 for 18 shooting with 3 rebounds and an assist. Stephen Curry led the way with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The Warriors snapped a two game losing streak and are now in a tie with the Phoenix Suns for the NBA’s best record. Draymond Green was a late scratch and did not travel with team, as he will be out with a calf injury. Other than that Otto Porter Jr and Gary Payton II are questionable. Golden State is a top five team in almost any statistical category you can think of on the season.<\/p>\n

Grizzlies Continue to Turn Heads<\/h3>\n

The Memphis Grizzlies won a franchise record 9th straight game over the Lakers on Sunday. They snapped four game winning streak for the Lakers and are now the hottest team in the league. The Grizz have won back-to-back games three times during their win streak and have now won 12 of their last 13 road games. Ja Morant scored 16 points while Desmond Bane led the team with 23. Memphis took a blow with the news of defensive dynamo Dillon Brooks missing the next 3-5 weeks with an ankle injury. Big man Steven Adams is questionable due to being entered into the league’s health and safety protocol. The Grizzlies score the 4th most points in the league with 112 per game, while ranking 15th in scoring defense.<\/p>\n

Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors Prediction<\/h3>\n

The Golden State Warriors are slim favorites of one point with a total set at 218.5. Memphis won the first meeting between these teams 104-101 in overtime with the Warriors winning the most recent game 113-104. It feels near impossible to pick a side in this contest. The Warriors are the league’s #1 rated defense, while Memphis has ratcheted up their defensive intensity during the 9 game win streak. The total has gone under in 5 consecutive Grizzlies home games and in 7 of their last 9 against Golden State. The Warriors have played to the under in 4 of their last 6 contests. Both teams are missing key defenders in Dillon Brooks and Draymond Green. However, missing these players hurts these teams offensively just as much. We will take a crack at the under, but there are better picks on the board tonight.<\/p>\n

Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors Preview from GoldSheet<\/h2>\n

Return of G Klay Thompson gave Golden State an emotional (and tangible performance) bump vs. Cleveland on Saturday, and now the Warriors travel to red-hot Memphis, winners of nine straight games sitting atop the NBA points spread standings at 27-15 vs. the number. The Grizzlies have played Golden State on even terms the last few seasons (5-4 straight up and vs. the points last nine). The teams split two earlier this season, both played at in San Francisco at the Chase Center. Warrior G Steph Curry dropped 36 and 46 points in the first 2 games against the Grizzlies, but of course this is Thompson\u2019s first outing against them, and F Andrew Wiggins only played in one of the two. Memphis PG Ja Morant has scored 25.5 ppg in the series, but with a rather pedestrian 5 rpg and 5.5 apg while making just 17% of his treys, and Jaren Jackson Jr. is shooting 39%, scoring 17.5 ppg and taking 6.5 rpg in the first 2 meetings, which is right around his seasonal averages. Must trust Steve Kerr\u2019s reinforced Golden State a bit more, especially with Grizzlies F Dillon Brooks on the shelf again after injuring his ankle against the Clippers on Saturday.<\/p>\n
