Two teams that have largely over-performed to start the season lock horns on Friday night over at the Estadio de Gran Canaria as 8th-placed Getafe takes on 11th-placed Las Palmas ahead of Matchday 15.<\/p>\n

Gran Canaria has proven to be a tricky place to go for visiting teams this season, with the newly promoted side losing just once here all year, a run that included taking the scalp of high-flying Atletico Madrid last time out as well.<\/p>\n

For Getafe, they\u2019re now unbeaten in eight straight games, winning two of those last three outright, and will hope for a similar result from the last time they visited here back in May 2018 which resulted in a 1-0 win for the road team.<\/p>\n

In terms of data, Las Palmas has been rock solid at the back at home this season, ranking 4th in goals allowed, 3rd in total shots allowed, and 3rd in defensive xGA also.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s been pretty much the polar opposite of a Getafe team who while they have shown they can score in games, are nonetheless extremely vulnerable defensively, allowing the 4th most goals from open play on the road this year, as well as having the 5th worst defensive xGA out of any team away from home also.<\/p>\n

Las Palmas appear like solid value on Friday night on the -0.25 handicap line as they\u2019ve shown more than enough times already this season that the long trip south to Gran Canaria can present real problems for teams from the mainland.<\/p>\n

Girona has been the surprise package of LaLiga so far this season, with the Catalonian side sitting top of the table overall heading into last weekend\u2019s matchups, before a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao saw Real Madrid pull even on points with them but owning a superior goal difference.<\/p>\n

That said, Girona still remains the hottest property in the league right now, ranking as the #1 team in both recent 10-game and 5-game form, and showed just how dangerous they are with Pablo Torre coming extremely close to snatching all three points for them against Athletic Bilbao last weekend.<\/p>\n

The Gironistes take on a Valencia team this Saturday who have been in some far patchier form of late, with a record of W3, D4, L3 across their last ten league games.<\/p>\n

A large part of those recent volatile results for Valencia have stemmed from an offense that has failed to create much genuine goal-scoring threat going forward, with their respectable 16 goals scored this season masking a vastly under-performing offense that sits 2nd from bottom in shots per game this season and 4th from bottom in offensive xG since September 1st.<\/p>\n

Valencia has won just one game away from home all season, and arguably take on a side at home on Saturday that not only ranks as one of Europe\u2019s hottest teams right now, but who also boasts LaLiga\u2019s #1 scoring offense this year, and that might well be a bridge too far Los Ches to span this weekend, so we’re taking Girona to grab all three points at home on Saturday.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest games of the European calendar kicks off over at the Estadio Olimpico this Sunday as current champions Barcelona host 2020\/21 LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid in a potential title decider this weekend.<\/p>\n

Recent results have proven to be extremely competitive between the two sides, with a W3, D2, L3 record being posted for either team since 2020.<\/p>\n

That said, Barcelona, despite this game not taking place in their traditional home of Camp Nou, has seen the better of it at home against Atletico in recent years, winning both of their previous two matchups here.<\/p>\n

However, in terms of overall form heading into this game, Atletico are the team to beat right now, with a shock 2-1 loss away to Las Palmas back at the start of November being the only blemish on their record since mid-September.<\/p>\n

Barcelona meanwhile has posted two losses across their last six games in all competitions, and look far from the elite defensive unit they were last season. The Catalan giants have kept just one clean sheet across their last seven games in all and face an Atletico Madrid offense in this one that sits 3rd in scoring offense and 1st in terms of counter-attacking goals scored this season.<\/p>\n

Atletico Madrid has the firepower to cause Barcelona some problems on Sunday, and we\u2019re backing them catching the +0.5 headstart to get at least a draw this weekend against Barcelona at the Estadio Olimpico.<\/p>\n
