Ralph Michaels (@CalSportsLV) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CalSportsLV\/status\/1691458686361993217?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 15, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NRFI Prediction 1: Astros vs Marlins (+102)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Astros have played to four straight NRFI games including last nights opening series game against the Marlins who have now played to a NRFI in five of their last six. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christian Javier gets the start for Houston tonight not allowing a first inning run in 17 of 22 total starts on the season as the Marlins sit as the second worst first inning scoring team in the MLB. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Johnny Cueto starts for the Marlins not sporting the best overall numbers but he hasn\u2019t allowed a first inning run in four of his five starts this season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In minimal at-bats, Javier has allowed current Marlins hitters to bat .214 against him in his career with Cueto only allowing Astros hitters to bat .175 against him in their collective careers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both starters sport a WHIP below 1.25 so play on an <strong>Astros vs Marlins NRFI tonight at +100<\/strong> with first pitch at 6:40pm ET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NRFI Prediction 2: White Sox vs Cubs (-118)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re heading to the Windy City for our second NRFI selection as the White Sox and Cubs go at it. Both teams rank in the bottom 12 of the MLB in first inning scoring on the season as Touki Toussaint gets the start for the White Sox going up against veteran Kyle Hendricks of the Cubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toussaint allowed a first inning run in his first start of the season but since hasn\u2019t allowed one in seven straight starts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hendricks hasn\u2019t allowed a first inning run in 11 of 15 total starts on the season including his last against the White Sox back on July 25th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The White Sox have played to a NRFI in five of their last six games with the Cubs returning home after only playing to a NRFI in one of their six games on their recent road trip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the Cubs scored less than four runs per game during that roadtrip so the offense hasn\u2019t been crushing the ball by any means. Both teams rank in the bottom 12 of the MLB in first inning scoring on the season as Touki Toussaint gets the start for the White Sox going up against veteran Kyle Hendricks of the Cubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Toussaint allowed a first inning run in his first start of the season but since hasn\u2019t allowed one in seven straight starts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Hendricks hasn\u2019t allowed a first inning run in 11 of 15 total starts on the season including his last against the White Sox back on July 25th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The White Sox have played to a NRFI in five of their last six games with the Cubs returning home after only playing to a NRFI in one of their six games on their recent road trip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>However, the Cubs scored less than four runs per game during that roadtrip so the offense hasn\u2019t been crushing the ball by any means.
