The offense is loaded again this year, and similar number are projected.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things weren\u2019t as rosy defensively.&nbsp; The Jayhawks exceeded my 5.15 expectation (6.25 in 2021, 4.85-201 in 2022), but that, and a nearly 65% pass defense percentage held them back in the win column.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One critical game is 10\/7, a host of run-oriented UCF.&nbsp; With some run defense concerns, Kansas probably needs to outscore the Knights.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don\u2019t expect a repeat of the stunning 37-16 win over Oklahoma State, especially with revenge taking place on the road (horrible history there).&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Oklahoma host might be interesting, especially if the Sooners still have defensive issues.&nbsp; Kansas can\u2019t afford to get too hyped up however, as past history shows them falling flat after facing the Sooners, including a loss a year ago.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kansas lost on the road to Texas Tech and Kansas State a year ago.&nbsp; If strides are made, this should be at least a split, but Kansas St has owned Kansas quite a long time.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My concern with the finale at Cincy is that KU will again be in letdown mode (win or lose) after facing their bitter in-state rival.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kansas Jayhawks Football Bottom Line: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s okay to say that some past history is not important when looking at how good this coaching staff is.&nbsp; Couple that with lots of returning talent and experience and at the very least we should expect another bowl appearance.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not the opponents that bother me as much as when the opponents appear on the schedule.&nbsp; <strong>I hate to call this just 6-6, but that\u2019s what it looks like unless the defense outperforms my expectations, and the team avoids letdowns in spots where a letdown might typically happen.&nbsp;
