\u00a0The Giants completed their suspended game and pulled off a 4-2 victory and then followed that up with an 11-10 win on the strength of a 5-RBI night from\u00a0Wilmer Flores<\/strong>. The Reds are reeling, losing six consecutive games as they try and salvage something in this series.\u00a0Graham Ashcraft\u00a0<\/strong>(4-7, 5.95 ERA) takes the ball in this third game of a four-game set and has been excellent of late, allowing one earned run in three straight starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Giants counter with\u00a0Ross Stripling,\u00a0<\/strong>who is looking to work five innings for the first time since May 7 but has been better of late following a month-long stint on the injured list. If he\u2019s able to handle business in the season\u2019s final few months, San Francisco will have a chance to hang in the Wild Card race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering that Stripling is still working his way into a groove and Ashcraft is young and pitching in a hitters friendly ballpark, the\u00a0over on 10.5 runs\u00a0<\/strong>is the play here.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chicago White Sox at New York Mets Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

WHITE SOX (+180) at METS (-220), 7:10 p.m. ET, Total: 8.5<\/strong>
Toukki Toussaint\u00a0<\/strong>has become an innings-eater vigilante of sorts, getting signed by teams who need a starter due to injuries or other mishaps. He\u2019s been with the Guardians prior to the White Sox and comes off his longest start, working into the sixth inning on July 14 in a 9-0 loss to the Braves. Chicago hasn\u2019t scored in either of his last two starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mets counter with\u00a0Justin Verlander\u00a0<\/strong>(3-5, 3.72), who is starting to find his way after a slow start, surrendering three or fewer earned runs in four consecutive starts. His improvement will be huge for New York\u2019s chances but it remains to be seen if he\u2019s going to be able to sustain his form. He\u2019s pitched well in big games against heavy hitters with the Padres and Dodgers and should fare well here. Only\u00a0Elvis Andrus\u00a0<\/strong>(23-for-77) has had any real success against Verlander among White Sox hitters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll keep the bullpens out of this, but this looks like a gift horse if Verlander continues making progress as he attempts to round into form as a 40-year-old. Ride the\u00a0F5 moneyline with New York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Nationals at Chicago Cubs Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

NATIONALS (+140) at CUBS (-165), 8:05 p.m. ET, Total: 9.5<\/strong>
\u00a0The Cubs rolled to a wild 17-3 win on Tuesday, riding a big night from\u00a0Seiya Suzuki,\u00a0<\/strong>who has struggled all season and needs to have a big second half if they\u2019re going to make a run. The same can be said about veteran starter\u00a0Kyle Hendricks\u00a0<\/strong>(3-4, 3.47),\u00a0<\/strong>who has been bit hard in his last two starts after finding a rhythm following a slow start, surrendering nine runs on 18 hits against the Red Sox and Yankees. Current Nats are just 9-for-47 against him (.191).
Washington dodged a bullet with 3B\u00a0Jeimer Canderlario\u00a0<\/strong>avoiding the IL despite a thumb issue that kept him out multiple games. He homered in his return and is the team\u2019s best chip on the trade block, so look for him to be moved soon.\u00a0Trevor Williams\u00a0<\/strong>(5-5, 4.42) was considered someone who would eat innings but has actually pitched well lately, allowing three or fewer earned runs in four of his last five starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detroit Tigers at Kansas City Royals Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

TIGERS (+130) at ROYALS (-150), 8:10 p.m. ET, Total: 8\/8.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Tigers starter\u00a0Eduardo Rodriguez\u00a0<\/strong>(5-5, 2.70 ERA) gets the ball and there\u2019s no question he and fellow starter\u00a0Michael Lorenzen\u00a0<\/strong>will be very desirable at the trade deadline, so pitching well here would do the Tigers wonder as they look for prospects in a trade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lefty is one of baseball\u2019s most sought-after pitchers at the trade deadline on Aug. 1 and could use a solid effort in this one to increase his value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Royals counter with lefty\u00a0Ryan Yarbrough\u00a0<\/strong>(2-4, 5.29), who has surrendered one earned run in each of his last two starts, defeating both the Guardians and A\u2019s . Current Tigers are batting just .143 against him (2-for-14). The Royals won Tuesday\u2019s game 11-10 behind\u00a0Dairon Blanco\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>four hits and three RBIs, surviving a four-run top of the ninth from Detroit,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both teams have starters looking to move to contenders, so we\u2019ll ride the\u00a0under on the total for the full game.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minnesota Twins at Seattle Mariners Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

TWINS (+135) at MARINERS (-160), 9:40 p.m. ET, Total: 7\/7.5<\/strong>
The Twins rolled to a 10-3 win on Tuesday behind\u00a0Alex Kiriloff, Willi Castro\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Mitch Kepler,\u00a0<\/strong>so they have a lot of guys contributing at the moment.\u00a0Kenta Maeda\u00a0<\/strong>(2-5, 5.50) looks to try and keep the AL Central leaders rolling and has personally not allowed momore than three earned runs since feeling fine, although he was only able to get thorough three innings against Oakland last time out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mainers counter with\u00a0Luis Castillo\u00a0<\/strong>6-7, 2.96), who has habitually been a victim of a lack of run support. Seattle\u2019s ace has a WHIP of 1.03 and has only surrendered and has only surrendered more than three earned runs in one of his last 10 outings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
