Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Boston Celtics evened up their 2nd round Eastern Conference series 1-1 against the Philadelphia 76ers as they prevailed at home on Wednesday night. The Celtics dismantled the Sixers by the final score of 121-87, easily covering the 7.5-point spread.<\/p>\n

Now the series shifts back to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Friday night and Game 4 on Sunday afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST\/4:30 PST from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

MVP Embiid Struggles In Return<\/h3>\n

Joel Embiid received his first MVP award on Tuesday night and returned to the lineup for the first time since April 20th due to a knee injury.<\/p>\n

Things didn’t go as planned as Embiid was rendered ineffective and scored only 15 points with 3 rebounds in 27 minutes of action.<\/p>\n

His presence was felt on the defensive side end, where he had 5 blocks, but the Celtics hit 20 three-pointers and he wasn’t much help with that.<\/p>\n

This was after Embiid averaged 33.1 PPG and 10.2 RPG per game during the regular season. Tobias Harris led his team in scoring with only 16 points while James Harden came crashing back down to earth with only 12 points on 2-14 from the field and 0-6 from three-point land.<\/p>\n

The Sixers ranked 3rd in offensive efficiency, 9th in defensive efficiency and 27th in pace of play during the regular season.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia was 29-12 at home during the regular season and they are 2-0 at home in the post-season. The 76ers have no players listed on their current injury report, though it doesn’t seem like Embiid is 100% quite yet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Celtics Get Even<\/h3>\n

The Boston Celtics were shocked in Game 1, as the Philadelphia 76ers rode an amazing performance by James Harden and prevailed 119-115.<\/p>\n

The Celtics were desperate for a victory in Game 2 as going to Philadelphia down 2-0 is a hole they might not have been able to dig out of. Boston won every quarter and led by as many as 36 while holding Philly to 6-30 from beyond the arc for 20%.<\/p>\n

Jalen Brown led all scorers with 25 points while Malcolm Brogdon was right behind him with 23 points off the bench. Jayson Tatum had a quiet night with only 7 points on 1-7 shooting as he dealt with foul trouble.<\/p>\n

Boston ranked 2nd in offensive efficiency, 3rd in defensive efficiency and 17th in pace during the regular season.<\/p>\n

The Green were 25-16 on the road during the regular season and are 2-1 on the road in the post-season. Boston also sports a clean injury report outside of Danilo Gallinari who has yet to play this season.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Boston Celtics are 2.5-point road favorites with a total set at only 214.5. Based on these teams splitting the first two games, the close to pick’em spread and the uncertainty surrounding Embiid’s health, this game feels like a borderline coin flip.<\/p>\n

There are some amazing angles on player props concerning Embiid. He just didn’t look right physically on Wednesday night in his first action since way back on 4\/20.<\/p>\n

Embiid scored only 15 points with 3 rebounds and 0 assists for 18 PRA while playing only 27 minutes in a 34-point blowout. Half of those points came from the free throw line as he shot only 4-9 from the field.<\/p>\n

Doc Rivers isn’t going to over-extend his big man, so if Embiid struggles or there is a blowout his minutes will be restricted once again.<\/p>\n
