NRFI Prediction 1: Tigers vs Mets (-148)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We struck out yesterday with the Tigers vs Mets NRFI but we\u2019re going back to the well again today with another former Tiger in Justin Verlander taking the mound for the Mets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be his first start of the season but we\u2019re banking on Verly being able to shut the Tigers down in the first. The Tigers have uncharacteristically scored 14 runs in their past two games against the Mets so I\u2019m anticipating a little regression today in general. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tigers send their \u201cace\u201d to the mound in Eduardo Rodriguez who hasn\u2019t allowed a first inning run in every start this season. In fact he\u2019s only allowed one earned run in his last 22.2 innings pitched! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was noted yesterday that these are the two teams who have scored the least amount of first inning runs this season. Take a Tigers vs Mets NRFI today at -148<\/strong> with first pitch set for 1:10pm ET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NRFI Prediction 2: Rays vs Pirates (-120)<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vince Velasquez is currently having the best season of his career now playing for his fourth team in four years. He hasn\u2019t allowed a run in 18 consecutive innings pitched but gets a daunting Rays team today in Tampa Bay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four of Velasquez\u2019s six starts have come on the road so he\u2019s not stranger to putting up solid numbers away from PNC Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rays have been one of the best teams in the league scoring in the first inning but they haven\u2019t done it in four straight now. They send Zach Eflin to the mound who hasn\u2019t allowed a first inning run in three of his four starts this season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019ll be looking to keep his undefeated streak alive now sitting at 3-0 so you can ensure he\u2019ll be looking to knock the Pirates down in order in the first inning.
