Utah gets a stretch of home games that well allow them to be home from Dec 12th through Dec. 27th, and surprisingly they have lost two straight at home, very unlike them. The spread sits at Jazz -12.5, and the total is an incredible 237.5, so lets dive in and find a wager for this one.<\/p>\n The books expect there to be a lot of points in this game, and it\u2019s hard to blame them. The Jazz had won eight straight before losing to San Antonio and Washington in back to back nights and in those eight games they scored 123 or more in seven of those games, and even in loss to San Antonio they scored 126.<\/p>\n Donavan Mitchell has been in the zone recently as he\u2019s been the leading scorer for Utah in 10 straight games, and while they\u2019ve been scoring a ton of points they\u2019ve sprinkled in some good defensive performances recently. They held two teams under 100 points in their winning streak, and are allowing the 7th least amount of points per game to opponents.<\/p>\n The Hornets have been involved in their fair share of shootouts as 10 out of 12 games for them have gone over 240 points, and they are coming off of three losses in their last four games, all road games. They got blown out by Phoenix last night by 31 points, and have a quick turnaround to travel to Utah and play the Jazz on a back to back.<\/p>\n The back to back situations have been quite the adventure for Charlotte as they have had five back to back situations, and they\u2019ve lost all five of the second games in those spots, and three have gone to overtime. Charlotte is now 4th in pace of play, so they\u2019ll surely be pushing the pace to keep up with Utah in this one.<\/p>\n The total of 237.5 is really high for this year, but I think both teams get enough points to get over this total. The blowout in Phoenix last night allowed Charlotte to play a lot of bench players, and limit the minutes of the starters. Only one starter played more than 27 minutes, and after this game they get several days off so expect a full effort from the Hornets starters.<\/p>\n Utah is rested, and Charlotte is now bottom three in guarding Centers, Power Forwards and Shooting Guards, so Mitchell should continue his scoring barrage, and Gobert should shine against Plumlee. Utah is the most efficient team in the league shooting the ball, and Charlotte is top 5 as well. Charlotte is dead last in defensive efficiency, and I expect tonight’s game to be a fantasy basketball dream.
