New Jersey Devils vs Tampa Bay Lightning Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Tampa Bay Lightning head to Newark on Tuesday night in the midst of their worst run of the season so far, winning just two of their last nine games overall, with those two wins coming against the lowly Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers also.<\/p>\n

Facing them at home in this one are a New Jersey Devils team on the complete opposite trajectory, losing just two of their last nine games overall after putting together a tremendous performance in shutting out the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday via a lopsided 3-0 victory.<\/p>\n

This will be the first of three meetings between the two teams over the next five days in what is a densely packed schedule.<\/p>\n

The Lightning have enjoyed the better of recent meetings however, winning eight of the last ten head-to-heads against the Devils.<\/p>\n

Goals Against A Problem For Struggling Bolts<\/h3>\n

Since a 3-0 shutout victory against the Detroit Red Wings three weeks ago, Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy has experienced one of the toughest stretches of the season so far, giving up 3.86 GAA over his last six starts, with backup Brian Elliot also giving up twelve goals across his last two road starts as well.<\/p>\n

However, Vasilevskiy has shown himself to be amongst the best goaltenders in the entire league season after season, and ranks 7th and 8th respectively in both number of quality starts and GSAA average this year also.<\/p>\n

Devils Look To End Recent Playoff Drought<\/h3>\n

The Tampa Bay Lightning were New Jersey\u2019s opponents the last time they made the playoffs back in 2017-18, with the Lightning summarily dumping them out inside five games in the opening round, and it\u2019s been over a decade since the Devils last won a post-season series in the playoffs.<\/p>\n

However, with players such as Jack Hughes, Dougie Hamilton, and Nico Hischier playing pivotal roles in the squad, New Jersey certainly looks like a team primed for a deep post-season run in this year’s playoffs.<\/p>\n
