Colorado Avalanche vs Los Angeles Kings Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Los Angeles Kings have won four straight games heading into Thursday\u2019s matchup against the Colorado Avalanche as they play their final road game in almost three weeks before returning home to California on Friday.<\/p>\n

Facing them are a Colorado team in this one that rebounded off a tough three-game stretch by beating the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday courtesy of a 6-0 rout, with Cale Makar and Valeri Nichushkin combining for two goals and six assists in that game also.<\/p>\n

This will be the second of three meetings between the two teams this year after Los Angeles took game one via a 5-4 SO back in December.<\/p>\n

However, that win for the Kings has been a rarity across this series, with Colorado winning all of the other nine head-to-heads across their last ten matchups.<\/p>\n

Kings Massively Outperforming Data This Year<\/h3>\n

While there are teams with better overall records than LA, more goals scored, and fewer goals allowed, no team has defied the data this season quite like the Kings have.<\/p>\n

Sitting right on the heels of the Vegas Golden Knights over in the Pacific Division, the Kings have achieved all that despite registering a -18 expected to actual goals differential this season.<\/p>\n

This is the third largest negative margin in the league overall, and a testament to just how well the Kings have been playing despite the puck not going their way.<\/p>\n

Avalanche Look To Steady The Ship<\/h3>\n

Despite their recent shutout win against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, the Avalanche gave up 17 goals across their previous three starts.<\/p>\n

They will look to make sure they don’t fall back into bad habits ahead of this one as they face the team who have scored the 4th most power-play goals in the league this season.<\/p>\n

However, Colorado have nonetheless been effective on defense inside the slot area this year, owning the league\u2019s 3rd best opponent high-danger conversion percentage this season at just 7.4% on average.<\/p>\n

Colorado Avalanche vs Los Angeles Kings Expert Prediction<\/h2>\n

The LA Kings going off as sizeable road underdogs in this one simply looks too appealing to pass up here given how well they\u2019ve been playing of late.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not only on power-play offense where the Kings have been effective either, ranking 4th in the league on opponent shots allowed at just 28.17 SAPG on average as well.<\/p>\n

The Kings also rank top ten in the league in both high-danger chances allowed and defensive xGA this year also, and should provide a real test for the Colorado Avalanche later tonight.<\/p>\n
