Portland Trail Blazers vs New Orleans Pelicans Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

The New Orleans visit Portland for an Eastern Conference clash with the Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. The Trail Blazers are coming off a 123-105 road loss against the Golden State Warriors last night. The Pelicans lost their fourth straight game 101-93 at home against the Orlando Magic on Monday.<\/p>\n

This will be the second of four games in a regular season series that Portland leads 1-0 after winning 106-95 in New Orleans on November 10th. Tip-off is slated for 10:00 PM EST\/7:00 PST from the Moda Center in Portland.<\/p>\n

Blazers On a Back-To-Back<\/h3>\n

The Portland Trail Blazers fell to 29-32 on the season after losing last night against the Warriors. The Dubs dominated the interior as they out-rebounded Portland 46-33 while outscoring Portland 66-40 in the paint.<\/p>\n

Dame Lillard led his team in scoring with 25 points along with 7 assists. Jerami Grant added 24 points while shooting 13-15 from the charity stripe. The Blazers sit at 11th place in the Western Conference, only a half game behind tonight’s opponent for the 10th seed and final play-in spot.<\/p>\n

Portland ranks 12th in scoring with 115 points a game on 48.2% from the floor. They rank 27th in defensive rating and 18th in defensive scoring with 115.4 points allowed per game. Anfernee Simons (ankle), Jusuf Nurkic (calf) and Justice Winslow (ankle) all remain out with injuries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Pelicans On Four Game Skid<\/h3>\n

The New Orleans Pelicans fell two games below .500 at 30-32 after losing to Orlando on Monday. The Magic had a 43-38 rebounding edge while also outshooting New Orleans.<\/p>\n

Brandon Ingram led his team in scoring with 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The only other players to score double digits were Jonas Valanciunas with 18 and Herbert Jones with 10 points.<\/p>\n

The Pelicans currently occupy the 10th seed with only a half game separating them from missing the play-in tournament altogether.<\/p>\n

New Orleans is a middle of the pack scoring team at 15th with 114.3 points a game on 47.7% from the floor. They sit at 9th in defensive rating and 17th in defensive scoring with 113.5 points allowed per game.<\/p>\n

Jonas Valanciunas and Josh Richardson are both listed as questionable for while Zion Williamson, Jose Alvarado and Larry Nance Jr have already been ruled out for this contest.<\/p>\n

This game is a virtual pick’em with the Portland Trail Blazers favored by only 1.5 points and a total set at 233.<\/p>\n

This is a critical game where the standings are concerned as only one team would have a play-in spot if the season ended tonight. Both teams are banged up, as the Blazers are without their second best scorer and best rebounder while the Pelicans are without their superstar leading scorer.<\/p>\n

The Blazers did play just last night but they will be at home tonight. New Orleans has really struggled to score during their four game slide with only 102, 110, 106 and 93 points in those games.<\/p>\n

This will lessen the blow of a Portland defense that sits at 27th in defensive rating. However, Lillard time will be the difference maker, so I’m rolling with the Blazers.<\/p>\n
