Monaco vs Leverkusen Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

After a thrilling five-goal shootout in the BayArena in Germany last week between Monaco and Leverkusen, it\u2019ll be very interesting to see how both teams set up ahead of this week\u2019s leg 2 over in France.<\/p>\n

Both teams were forced to come from behind in last week’s game as Monaco went up 1-0 early through an own goal from Leverkusen\u2019s Lukas Hradecky at the back.<\/p>\n

The German side roared back into contention with two early second-half goals to take command of the game and it looked as if they would take an advantage into France in leg 2.<\/p>\n

However, it wasn\u2019t to be as Leverkusen not only saw their lead evaporate through a well-taken Krepin Diatta shot inside the left post late in the second-half, but also fell behind through an injury-time Axel Disasi winner as well.<\/p>\n

The German side now find themselves forced to play catchup over in France this week.<\/p>\n

Over their 25+ year history in European meetings, Monaco have lost to Leverkusen just once, winning four and drawing twice. That includes a W2, D1, L0 record at home against Leverkusen in the Stade Louis II also.<\/p>\n

Leverkusen\u2019s Form Dipping At The Wrong Time<\/h3>\n

After their 3-2 defeat to Monaco last week in the Europa League, Leverkusen then followed that up with yet another 3-2 defeat at home to mid-table Mainz on Sunday.<\/p>\n

This was another defeat where they could arguably count themselves a little unfortunate (hit the post against Monaco, missed a penalty against Mainz).<\/p>\n

Unfortunate or not however, Leverkusen have now lost four of their last five games overall and find themselves really struggling for form at just the wrong time.<\/p>\n

Monaco Can Count On History<\/h3>\n

While Monaco will feel confident of progressing in this tie given they\u2019re unbeaten in eight straight games across all competitions, they can also fall back on a strong historic record in Europe as well, unlike their German counterparts.<\/p>\n

Monaco have progressed from each of their last ten European knockout rounds when holding an advantage from the first leg, while Leverkusen have failed to progress in eleven straight European attempts when going into the second leg with a first leg deficit.<\/p>\n

Monaco vs Leverkusen Expert Prediction<\/h2>\n

We\u2019re taking Monaco to win and cover this one at home on Thursday against Bayer Leverkusen on the -0.25 line.<\/p>\n

Monaco are in some sensational form right now, winning five straight games, including a 3-1 victory over PSG in this venue two weeks ago as well.<\/p>\n

Monaco have two of their best right-backs out injured for this game, so that’s an area Leverkusen will no doubt look to target here.<\/p>\n

However, with no Moussa Diaby up front for the German side, a huge blow considering he\u2019s been their leading scorer this season, if Leverkusen do go on the offensive in this one, that will only allow Monaco more space in which to operate behind them and Leverkusen will likely get punished as a result.<\/p>\n

Take Monaco -0.25 to win and cover at home on Thursday against Bayer Leverkusen over in the Europa League.<\/p>\n
