Creighton vs Marquette Betting Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

Creighton attempts to avenge a 69-58 loss they suffered at Marquette two months ago as these two battle it out tonight with the Golden Eagles sitting atop the Big East standings.<\/p>\n

With a win, Creighton would climb right to the top of the standings but are still in search of 20 total wins on the season.<\/p>\n

Marquette is one of the best in the nation against the spread sitting 17-9-1 overall with the Bluejays at 13-14 ATS. The total sits around 146 which is a far cry from the 127 total points these two put up last time out.<\/p>\n

Marquette Must Make Defensive Improvements<\/h3>\n

Marquette will be playing its third road game in their last four games tonight which could start to take a toll on them.<\/p>\n

All three of their Big East losses have come on the road, but they\u2019ll only have one more road game remaining this regular season after tonight\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

During conference play the Golden Eagles are first in adjusted offensive efficiency, effective field goal percentage as well as turning it over the least amount of times of any team.<\/p>\n

They lack interior defense though coming in dead last in 2pt field goal percentage allowed of any Big East team during conference play.<\/p>\n

Their defense could use some slight improvements in general ranking 6th in conference play in adjusted defensive efficiency, second to last in effective field goal percentage given up and 8th in 3pt field goal percentage allowed.<\/p>\n

Tyler Kolek is the X-Factor for this Marquette team averaging 11.7 points, 7.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game while adding almost two steals per game on defense. If the game is close look for him to be at the free throw line making 80% of his free throws on the season.<\/p>\n

Creighton Stout Defense Coming to Play<\/h3>\n

Defense is something Creighton hasn\u2019t had to worry about much themselves allowing less than 68 points in six of their last seven games.<\/p>\n

They rank first in Big East play in many key metrics including adjusted defensive efficiency, effective field goal percentage allowed, offensive rebounds allowed, free throws attempted by the opposition and 2pt field goal percentage allowed.<\/p>\n

Their perimeter defense is outstanding allowing the least amount of 3pt shot attempts of any Big East team in conference play.<\/p>\n

All five of their starters average double digit scoring so its anyone\u2019s guess as to who could be the breakout player for Creighton in this crucial matchup.<\/p>\n

Interior presence is led by 7\u20191 junior Ryan Kalkbrenner averaging over 14 ppg and has picked up six blocks over the team\u2019s past two games as well. In general Marquette is going to have a tough time scoring on the Bluejays.<\/p>\n
